CWCHS - Pink Out - Softball - Carmi vs North Posey 03-30-13I’ve uploaded the photos from Saturday’s softball game, Carmi vs North Posey Co.
The game quickly became a “Pink Out” as everyone was encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness and to honor Tara Glover who has been battling with cancer herself and who is no stranger to Carmi Ladies Sports. The event took a somber note as Tara was not able to make it due to a setback that put her into the hospital but although she could not attend in body she was there in spirit. The game started with a very touching and moving statement by Coach Conner who explained that Tara’s jersey and number was going to be retired. He also mentioned how Tara encouraged the girls to “Play with Purpose” and that she bought all the girls shirts with that very statement.
I’m sure Tara is proud of the Ladies Softball team in the way that they “Played With Purpose” that day! Good Job Ladies!! http://www.jbakerphotos.com/p320198444 Baseball Season Opener at Eckerle ParkPhotographed the season opening High School Baseball between Carmi and Fairfield on Saturday, the 16th, held on Carmi’s newly renovated field.
I heard a lot of good compliments on the facility as I was milling about. Charlie Rankin was honored with a plaque for his countless hours of hard work and dedication to the “Eckerle Project”. I heard Charlie say, as he was being presented with the plaque, “Boy, I sure didn’t expect this!”
This was a first for me, photographing baseball, and I must say I found it somewhat challenging. The biggest challenge was the weather! Started off being a very nice day but that soon changed…felt more like Football weather than Baseball weather to me!
I can say this will not be my last baseball game…look forward to photographing more and getting more field action shots in the future.
Thank you for looking and please share the photos with your friends and family!
