Welcome to my blog where you can come for updates, announcements and anything else that may be on my mind! Wrestling - Carmi vs BentonTook some photos at Monday’s wrestling match, Carmi vs Benton, it was the first time taking wrestling photos for me. I had a lot of fun as I watched nearly the entire event through my lens and I believe I got some good shots of the action! It was also Senior night and there were several Seniors who were honored during the event…glad I was there to capture that.

Thanks! Carmi White County High School Basketball - Carmi vs WoodlawnWent to the Carmi vs Woodlawn High School basketball game Friday night and took my camera along. This was the first outing for me photographing a basketball game. My hat goes off to those who do that and do it well...it does not take long to realize that it's no walk in the park. lol A young man I go to church with plays ball and I had wanted to try and get some photos of him playing. Had a great time and I think that I got some decent shots. Look forward to doing it again!
I should have a gallery up soon with some of the photos. Jack Baker Photos becomes reality!

An idea that has been on my mind for a long time finally came to light. I've enjoyed photography for years, every since my parents bought me a 35mm Minolta film camera for High School graduation. I'd go through periods of taking lots of photos then go on a hiatus then pick it back up again until I got my first digital camera...Kodak Easyshare point and shoot. I had a lot of fun with it and it was really a good camera but I was always bothered by its limitations. Then I got an entry-level DSLR and I was hooked, eventually upgrading to the equipment that I have today. I've had an idea to create a website to display my photos for a long time and finally succumbed to the idea the first of this year. There is quite the learning curve doing this so please bear with me while I go through the "birth pains" of starting it. Ha! It's no pain at all and so far has been lots of fun!
I thank you for looking around my site and hope that you enjoy your stay here. Please, if you feel led, sign my Guestbook, comment on photos and blog posts...feedback is always welcome! You can even "like" my Galleries and Photos to your Facebook, Twitter and Google accounts. There is also an option to purchase prints if you would like to. I offer prints in many sizes and may be able to provide prints in other sizes not listed if interested, just message me and we may be able to work something out. I also offer over 150 different greeting cards with plans to add other products in the future.
I recently created a Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/JackBakerPhotos, to have a place to post updates to my site.
I'm looking forward to where all of this may lead and give the Lord credit for it all!!!
